Katie is the Assistant Director of Dining Retail Operations at Ithaca College. Previously, Katie taught writing and literature for 13 years at community colleges and for a few years with the Cornell Prison Education Program while also maintaining a career in hospitality. The thread in these professional paths is a service mindset. She sees teaching and managing as an opportunity to lead with an inspiring vision, create a sense of belonging, develop and drive systems that support people, operations, and experiences, and coach and mentor learners and workers of all ages as they learn how to invest in themselves and their world. Katie holds an MA in Literature from SUNY Cortland and a BA in English and Textual Studies and Journalism from Syracuse University.
